FURTHER THOUGHTS FOR REFLECTION:
He could have been any young man, any young woman, of today.
He found himself in a hell of his own making,
Hammered by his own mind for what he had done.
He was remorseful and said, "I have sinned!"
- - - - -
But, his remorse was not genuine repentance.
The _______, which had been so important to him before,
now did not matter.
He was sorry, not because he had sinned against Christ,
but because his sin did not satisfy him the way he had hoped.
- - - - -
His conscience would not be silenced.
His sin brought him unbearable misery.
But, he was merely sorry because he did not like what had happened,
he did not like what he felt now.

Does this reflect in what we do, then secretly feel, today?
(today's reflection is based on Chapter 10 - Judas the Traitor. TWELVE ORDINARY MEN, by John MacArthur (Thomas Nelson)
