Reflection of the Day - 11/24/2008

Honour One Another Above Yourselves.

Romans 12:10 [NIV]

Further Thoughts For Reflection:

Honor, One Another, Above

Honor one another above yourselves.
Romans 12:10 NIV
τη τιμη αλληλουs προηγουμενοι

τιμη - dative singular (indirect object - may be translated "to" or "for") - honour: a pricing, an estimate of work, value, preciousness, real worth, careful regard, honour conferred, veneration, mark of favour and consideration.
αλληλουs - accusative plural (used when a noun is the direct object of a verb) - one another: each other.
προηγουμενοι - nomnitive, plural, masculine, participle, present (used when a noun is the subject of a sentence, an adjective form of a verb, in the present tense it ordinarily expresses simultaneous action) - above: togo before, precede, lead ownward, to endeavour to take the lead of, vie with, to give precedence to, to prefer.
What an amazing thing to try to simultaneously do! Do notice that none of these words is in a passive form. All are active. "Honour one another" is not a attitude; it is action.based on valuing another person.
In honour preferring one another. KJV
