Yes, people of every country and religion have to deal with these barbaric actions. We must not judge the whole for the sins of the few. That is called a cognitive distortion: Cognitive distortions are simply ways that our mind convinces us of something that isn't really true. Specifically it is this distortion: Labeling is a cognitive distortion where we tend to make global statements about about others based on situation specific behavior not reality. When we think scripture supports our conclusion, it is easy to cast blame and jump to conclusions that are not true. In that way we actually distort the scripture - a flaw many religious leaders practice.
