Who Is In Control Of Your Relationships?

He who needs the other person the least
is in control of the relationship.
Dr. James Dobson Love Must Be Tough via Michael Hyatt

He who needs the other person the least
is in control of the relationship.

  • It works in buying a car, real estate, or other property.mh
  • It works in negotiating the salary and benefits for a new job or a promotion.mh
  • It even works in parenting and other interpersonal relationships.mh
  • It's a working principle in the Church.GOD
Think God and Man...
Think Jesus... Philippians 2:8
For I am not in the least inferior ..., even though I am nothing.  2 Corinthians 12:ll NIV
For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.  Luke 9:48 NIV
If you want to be great in God's kingdom learn to be the servant of all.  Mark 9:35 by Maranatha
But then think also of grace. Think of God's provision.  Think how he declares that we will be in need of nothing.  If we need or lack nothing we indeed are the people who need the other person least in interpersonal relationships and in our relationships with God and in the body of Christ.
Don't get me wrong!  God has much for us to do.  And to whom much is given much is required.  What others provide is needed for us to be whole and connected.  But we are not the "needy." We are not the beholding out holding the bag.

We are not to be the ones who are being controlled.
