How To Keep Yourself Safe In God's Love

From the Book of Jude:

Keep Yourself Safe In God's Love By:

I. Showing Mercy To Those Whose Faith Is Wavering

There's nothing like a good scolding, a threat to ensure punishment, to discourage a struggling believer or drive away a seeker. But an attitude of mercy, acts of mercy, give hope and encouragement. They actually strengthen the blossoming faith. They do not breed a careless spirit or cheapen grace.

WHAT DO YOUR ACTS OF MERCY LOOK LIKE? DO THEY MIRROR CHRIST'S MERCY EXTENDED TO YOU?

II. Rescuing Others By Snatching Them From The Flames of Judgement

How can we snatch people from the flames of judgment if we usurp God's place and render judgment,  pronounce a sentence, and take on the role of enforcer?

How can we snatch them from the flames of judgment when we are trying to protect them from God's acts of judgment or tell them that the judgments falling upon them have nothing to do with God?

Snatching does not push people to the brink then yank them back and claim that in both actions we were just doing God's will. Snatching is not building a fire wall or dismissing the seriousness of present or eternal judgment. Ah, the multitude of Christian parents who have surrendered their children to Hell.  Snatching is a swift, powerful removal from the presence of judgment.

III. Showing Mercy To Yet Others But With Great Caution Hating The Sins That Contaminate Their Lives

And for others living lives contaminated by sin? Again - show them mercy. But remember that does not mean joining them their lifestyle or, as many "Christians" are doing today, participating in the things that are contaminating their lives in the first place.

How Can You Keep Yourself Safe In God's Love?

The unexpected answer:
By Showing Mercy To and Rescuing Others.

TIME TO GET BUSY!
