The Restoration of the Penitent
Hosea 14:5-7 NLT

After repentance comes new life,
And what a beauty that new life is.
How refreshing it feels and looks.
How pleasant its blossoming.
The repentant are not only healed,
Not only forgiven.
They are restored to a measure
They have never before known.

O Lord!
Grant us true repentance
Individually and corporately
In our churches!

I will be to my repentant people
like a refreshing dew from heaven.
Their fellowship will blossom like the lily.
It will send roots deep into the soil
like the cedars in Lebanon.
Its branches will spread out like beautiful olive trees,
as fragrant as the cedars of Lebanon.

My people will again live under my shade.
They will flourish like grain
and blossom like grapevines.
They will be as fragrant
as the wines of Lebanon.
Grant us Lord your restoration.
