Satan used scripture to tempt the human desires of Jesus.
He does it to you too!

SATAN'S SECOND PLOY:

Satan's second ploy is also one most Christian's fall for and never even realize it. They think they are doing right and praying right but God is just saying, "No." True, God is saying, "No!!" loud and clear. But we refuse to accept the reason he says no. Caught in the devil's snare, we still believe we are right and God's voice is the Tempter's. Our being trapped upside down betrays us as we continue to betray God. Satan's second ploy is that deceptive.

So, how do we know our "truth" is actually a lie by the Angel of Light (Satan)? Our disenchantment provides one of the clues.

The old ploy says, "If you are what you claim to be, then do this, or ask that."

A huge section of modern Christianity follows this ploy leaving behind the rest of the revealed will of God, even the Holy Spirit who they claim to be leading them. But if you listen, it is human decisions they are making, not the present leading of the Holy Spirit.

Another clue to this ploy:  Men and women have made themselves rich at other believers expense by preaching this ploy - this "logos" from Satan.

The Devil said to Jesus, If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down. For it is written:
'and they will lift you up in their hands s
o that you will not strike your foot against a stone'; 'he will command his angels concerning you.'"

But Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’”**

Unlike us, Jesus did not fall to

** The passage in Deuteronomy states an example  of Israel at Massah and Meribah, an event that ended disastrously for Moses. Click the links for two different records of that event. It is that important.
