Secular Leaders and Leaders from a Different Religion are Still Accountable to God:

A public letter the other day insisted that God and scripture are not needed for morality. Intellect. socialization, and human observation, the author postulated, are enough for developing a code of morality recognized by all without codification. For issues like murder, stealing, truth telling, the author made a strong secular argument.

The same logic is presented for the exclusion of consideration of God, religion, and spirituality from the realm of government. The foundation of issues such as the separation of church and state has sifted from freedom from government interference in and codification of religion, to law, law enforcement, and political philosophy using the same kind of argument.

In other words, God is not necessary.

In America, we always thought these premises belonged to Marxism and communism. Today, they are the hallmarks of democracy and parliamentarianism as well.

Of course, if you believe there is no God, then what else do you have but these premises. However, whether people believe there is a God or not. God still exists.

In fact, our modern views, Marxism, communism, et.al are logical extensions of the belief in scientism and a non-divine first cause.

Did God set the creation in order? Did he create man with a spirit directly? Is violation of his established order the root of evil and immorality? If so, does he have a plan to rescue man and creation from this current stated of deterioration?

These questions answered affirmatively, as God's revealed scripture does, create a very different worldview than the worldview that flows from a negative answer to one or all of those questions.

"God says it and I believe it. That's good enough for me." Christianity says this. But few Christians live as if the words of scripture and the Holy Spirit are true.

Nonetheless, God says all governments are accountable to him for how they govern, how they view him, and what they do to God's spiritual children, and not only to God's children but also what they do to unbelievers, the earth, and the world's economy. God expects justice for all from our leaders and rulers. He hates when they reward evil or evil men and disturbs the peace of the people who do good and obey the laws.

The New Testament makes a bold statement that most Christians in democracies and parliamentary governing systems do not believe.

All authority comes from God,

and those in positions of authority

have been placed there by God.

Romans 13:1

For kingship belongs to the Lord,

and he rules over the nations.

Psalm 22:28 ESV

As the ruler of the nations, each person in authority owes his/her position to God and, therefore, are accountable to him.

But don't be too hard on the unbelief of those in charge of nations or the other peoples who lead and rule over us. Even we Christians have trouble believing the God rules over the nations. We certainly think he does not do a very good job of it.

No wonder our leaders and rulers do not fear him or believe his words.

This Has Led To God's Anger Against Our Leaders:

“My anger burns against your shepherds,
and I will punish these leaders.
For the Lord of Heaven’s Armies has arrived
    to look after his flock.
He will make them strong and glorious,
like a proud warhorse in battle."
Romans 10:3
