My churches - have become a wild,

barren, thirsty, waterless waste. 

In the Desert - Your Desert -

YOU, YES YOU! PREPARE

THE WAY!

THE LORD IS COMING!

In this desert, you, become the voice

of one crying out!

In this godless wilderness you dwell in,

get the kinks out of my church.

Get the kinks and potholes, booby

traps out of your lives!

Straighten up!

Make a straight way

in the wilderness

so that everyone can see

the Glory of the Lord!

Make the road straight and smooth,

highway fit for our God.

Fill in the valleys,

level off the hills,

Smooth out the ruts,

clear out the rocks.

Then God's bright glory will shine

and everyone will see it.
