Memorial Stones - A Witness To The Future

A Witness To The Future

In the Bible God instructs the people to create memorials. These range from an inscribed stone to holidays to ritual meals to buildings to heaps of stones.

Some of the purposes for these memorials are:

1. To point to atonement
2. To remind the people of God's help
3. To remind of wrong doing
4. To remind the people of significant historical events
5. To commemorate miracles so that the whole earth will know that God is powerful
6. To remember a covenant or treaty
7. To demonstrate unity
8. To memorialize a reaffirmation of faith.

God knows people, his people, need reminders.

Think on these things.
WHAT ADDITIONAL MEMORIALS DO WE NEED AS AMERICAN CHRISTIANS TODAY?

WHEN YOU EXPERIENCE A MEMORIAL DOES ITS REMINDER CATCH YOUR HEART AND MIND OR IS IT JUST A PRETTY STONE, A FUN HOLIDAY, OR NICE MEAL?
