Step # 3:
THE FALSE HOPE AND CONSEQUENCES OF
POLITICAL SOLUTIONS
Israel, the prostitute nation, and even Judah, the faithful but unholy nation, both turned to a political solution to the trouble in their countries, not willing to accept that the turmoil and destruction were God's hand of judgment and his call to repentance.
To their credit, they saw how sick their cultural and political systems were. To their shame, they turned to even less godly nations to find a fix for their problems-to keep control of their out of control situations.
Like our Christian and formerly Christian nations today, they trusted in their human ability to fix everything and continued to eject God from their national lives. (Though Judah did keep up the ritual facade of obedience.)
They, like we, put their hope in political solutions in the very face of the God calling them to put their hope in him. And it was not just the career politicians and secular leaders. It was not just the rich, but also the poor. It was not just the worshipers of other Gods, but also the religious leaders who preached the True God.
Sound familiar. If not, ask God to unstop your ears. The verbal evidence of the same happening among is abundant, in written and in media communications. Still deaf and blind? Find a follower of Islam and ask them to tell you the signs they see of apostasy and godlessness among us. When his own will not speak the truth, God lets the ungodly speak for him. This too is a form of judgment.
BUT THE WORLD POWERS
AND THE POWERS OF SATAN IN THE WORLD
CAN NOT HELP
NEITHER CAN THEY CURE US
Assyria and its great king could neither help nor cure Israel. They could not help or cure Judah. In fact, as history would soon reveal, not only could they not help, any proffered help was actually treachery, treachery taught and allowed by their religious system. Not only could they not help, but they were the very instrument of destruction set to wipe out Israel and sent to bring a final call to Judah in the steps of her repentance.
And so it is today:
For the prostitute Christian nations, STEP #3 is unleashing God's judgment # 3.
I will be like a lion,
like a strong young lion.
I will tear you to pieces!
I will carry you off,
and no one will be left to rescue you.

WE MAY BE STRONG, BUT WE CANNOT SURVIVE THE WHOLE WORLD BEING UNLEASHED AGAINST US
Already it is beginning. We are alienating our friends. We are strengthening the resolve of our enemies. Our destruction is but a stroke of God's hand away.
Despite the words of the false teachers and prophets,
God is still at work in our world today.
