Open your doors, Lebanon,

Zechariah 11:1-5 NLT

Notes from Zechariah 10:

"I will restore them because of my compassion."

"I will hear their cries."

"I will make their hearts happy."

"Even the children will see it and be glad."

"When I whistle, they will come running
for I have redeemed them."

Have You Heard the Whistle!

God's Children Not The Only Ones At Risk

The news and the on-line sites tend to only show us pictures of Mid-Eastern desert or ruins. But God originally created the many lands of the Mid-East to have great beauty. Some of that beauty still persists.

All of this beauty stands a risk. God has destroyed so much of it before using the hands of the wicked. Unless repentance comes, the rest is again endangered for Zechariah 11:1-3 is about to be fulfilled today.

The lands and powers of the Mid-East stand under judgment. So much is unjust. So many lack compassion for others or even their own people. There is so much greed and inequity. So few heed the messages of the Prophets - even the prophets which Islam says it embraces. So many worship the god's of the world, and false concepts of God, not the One True God who has revealed himself in Christ Jesus.

Read the words for yourself and weep. For scripture is clear, those who take glee in destruction of others will themselves be destroyed. And, yes, some of you Christians. I am also speaking to you.

Open your doors, Lebanon,
so that fire may devour your cedar forests.
Weep, you cypress trees, for all the ruined cedars;
the most majestic ones have fallen.
Weep, you oaks of Bashan,
for the thick forests have been cut down.
Listen to the wailing of the shepherds,
for their rich pastures are destroyed.
Hear the young lions roaring,
for their thickets in the Jordan Valley are ruined.
Zechariah 11:1-3
