The People Know That Favor Has Been Broken And Pay The Shepherd To Go Away

Your Security May Not Be As Secure

As You Think - Part 4

Zechariah 11:10-14 NLT

10 Then I took my staff called Favor and cut it in two, showing that I had revoked the covenant I had made with all the nations. 11 That was the end of my covenant with them. The suffering flock was watching me, and they knew that the Lord was speaking through my actions.
12 And I said to them, “If you like, give me my wages, whatever I am worth; but only if you want to.” So they counted out for my wages thirty pieces of silver.
13 And the Lord said to me, “Throw it to the potter”—this magnificent sum at which they valued me! So I took the thirty coins and threw them to the potter in the Temple of the Lord.
14 Then I took my other staff, Union, and cut it in two, showing that the bond of unity between Judah and Israel was broken.

The flock knew that the Lord was speaking through my actions.

And here is the frustration of speaking the application of the Minor Prophets to today.

Lord, do these people ... do these Americans ... these Russians ... these Europeans ... these Muslims know that you are speaking to them today?

Am I the weak one, the one believing these sheep, these flocks intended for slaughter somehow are still just ignorant, somehow not yet accountable for knowledge?

But you Lord speak to me from Romans:

"They know the truth about God
because he has made it obvious to them."
(Romans 1:19)

They have no excuse. And I error to give them one.

What the flock knows but will not admit before one another or God.

     1.   God's favor toward them has been broken.

     2.   Their covenant with God has ended.

     3.   They know when God is speaking through his called ones.

    4.   They know the bond of Christian Unity has long been broken and is                                     today being broken again.

Note: And how much do they care. Enough to again spend thirty pieces of silver to send him and his messengers away and to stand aghast when he throws that blood money back into their treasury.
