Watch Out! You Worthless Shepherds!
Your Security May Not
Be As Secure
As You Think
Zechariah 11:17 AMP

“Judgment is coming to the
worthless shepherd!
The sword will strike his arm
worthless shepherd!
The sword will strike his arm
and his right eye!
His arm shall be totally withered
and his right eye completely
blinded.”

God himself pronounces what will happen to the unfaithful shepherd(s). He will become useless and blind!
What Happens To A Morally Deficient Leader
God himself pronounces what will happen to the unfaithful shepherd(s). He will become useless and blind!
King Nebuchadnezzar one of the greatest, wisest, and most influential shepherds can testify to what happens when a leader is or becomes morally deficient. For him the result took this form:
Nebuchadnezzar was driven from human society. He ate grass like a cow, and he was drenched with the dew of heaven. He lived this way until his hair was as long as eagles’ feathers and his nails were like birds’ claws. (for the full story read Daniel 4)
What happens to a morally deficient leader? God humbles him.
It may take the form of social or political humiliation. I might mean removal - often forcefully - from office or control. It can accompany the fall of the leader's organization, nation, or domain. It may be literal loss of the use of an arm or the blinding of an eye. Or, it might be by an untimely or at least unexpected death.

God Is Still Judging The Unbelieving, The Fake Believers, and Genuine Believers
Those who lead, ranging from fathers and mothers to kings, princes, govenors, and presidents, are held to a clear standard, God's standard. Those who teach, lead social movements, and other influencers are held to a greater standard of accountability.
These judgments and their adminstration occur in the here and now.
Just because there is final judgment does not mean God no longer acts in judgment in the present. Under the Old Testament God functioned as both the present judge and the eternal judge.
Let us not forget that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever unchanged by grace.
