Do Not Get Sidetracked

Proverbs 4  Speaks To Today

Ponder The Path Of Your Feet

Proverbs 4:26-27 NLT

____________________________________________________________

Mark out a straight path for your feet;
Stay on the safe path. Don’t get sidetracked;
Keep your feet from following evil.

____________________________________________________________

Marking out a straight path is not an easy thing.
Nor does this passage give you license
to create your own way.
(Agh, again, God's way is not what we
Americans teach.)
Ponder the path of your feet
is another way to translate
the word 'mark'.

Ponder and mark out
when combined into one word
lead to fulfilling this life pathway.

And note -
The straight path
is the safe path.
To get sidetracked is to
wander headlong into
danger.

To leave the path
is to walk away unprotected
in your folly.

Ponder the straight path.
It is the safe path.
But, sorry, you will not be
carried down the path,
you must walk in it.

Still, you are not left to chance.
You are not left to flawed human judgment.
Following the path is not
a twisted fate,
left for you to live in fear
for your safety.

In pondering,
marking out what is revealed,
you are not alone.
Whether you turn to the right or to the left,
your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying,
"This is the way; walk in it."
New International Version
Isaiah 30:21

Don’t get sidetracked!
Follow the voice.
