Minor Prophets Speak To Today
He Continues To Rage Against His Enemies!
Nahum 1:1-3 NLT

The Lord is a jealous God,
filled with vengeance and rage.
He takes revenge on all who oppose him
and continues to rage against his enemies!
3 The Lord is slow to get angry, but his power is great,
and he never lets the guilty go unpunished.
He displays his power in the whirlwind and the storm.
The billowing clouds are the dust beneath his feet.

Well, now, that is certainly not a politically correct thing to say. That does not meet the standards of the modern scholars and their view of what is real or right. In fact preach that today from a national forum and you will quickly be browbeaten and shamed into retracting your words.
Is it is any wonder that so many scholars, even ones who claim the names 'Christian' or Jewish are hell bent to claim these are words from the past to the past and do not apply in our world today.
But the premise of this blog has been and continues to be that these words are the very ones I Corinthians 10:6, 11 call us to heed as
warnings to ourselves in the last days.
The historical situation and happenings in Nahum's day are recorded so that we might escape God's vengeance and rage both as unbelievers in the world and as God's chosen people.
This message concerning Nineveh came as a vision to Nahum, who lived in Elkosh.

It does not matter that under grace God is patient and not willing that any should perish.
It does not matter what a person's background is.
It does not matter what a person's background is.
It does not matter if he is Wayne M. Anson.
God works against those who oppose him even as he works to draw them to himself and offers to save us from his own vengeance and rage.
