"Wiser Than The Children Of Light"

NEEDED:  Shrewd, but godly, Leaders

My generation is desperately lacking in shrewd godly leaders. The words of Jesus at the end of the Parable of the Unjust Steward apply, as far as I can discern, to every generation of Christians alive in America today.
  • And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.King James Version Luke 16:7-9 (in Context) Luke 16 (Whole Chapter)
First, if you filter our present leadership through the lens of "godly" rather than the lens of "self-declared Christian," close to none of the persons whom Christians predominately follow live and lead as disciples of Jesus do. Those few who are shrewd, whether godly or not, fail the criteria of biblically defined justice. Even fewer fit within the model of justice which Jesus lived and taught.

And yet we increasingly face anti-Christian, or at least anti-biblical morality, advocacy groups and cultural norms.  The purveyors of these anti-god, anti-Christ, movements, however, demonstrate shrewd, wise, and thus extremely effective, strategies and actions.

Look no further than the success of atheistic evolutionists.  Look at the the LGBT movement.

Stop to consider how the "new morality" movement of the 1960's has coalesced into the new sexual norms which our own children live without apology.  They, thanks to the sexual revolution's on-going strategists, even dismiss the plain teachings of scripture, casting scripture against scripture to excuse their new norm.  Unfortunately, when I speak to their parents, they too do the same adding condescending put downs and attitudes in order to justify their own pasts and silence the words and voice of the Holy Spirit.
Where in the United States of America are the shrewed, godly, effective voices for justice, righteous living, and holiness?

If we find them, is there anyone willing to follow them?

When we bemoan the anti-Christian turn in our laws and culture, when we at last are grieved by the moral condition of our children and nation, maybe we will admit the words of Jesus apply to us:
  • New Living Translation“The rich man had to admire the dishonest rascal for being so shrewd. And it is true that the children of this world are more shrewd in dealing with the world around them than are the children of the light.  Luke 16:7-9 (in Context) Luke 16 (Whole Chapter)
Maybe we will finally pray for wisdom and accept it.
